Team Alingi wins Louis Vuitton Act 3
Team Alinghi’s 3rd and 2nd place in today’s fleet racing was enough to give them a 2 point lead over Emirates Team New Zealand in Valencia today to win the Louis Vuitton Act 3 in the lead up to the 32nd Americas Cup. BMW Oracle Racing finished in 3rd place on 34 points, 4 points behing Emirates Team New Zealand after coming 1st in the 5th Fleet Race and 3rd in the 6th. The Prada sponsored Luna Rossa Challenge finished both races in 4th place resulting in a 4th place position overall for the Louis Vuitton Act 3.
In the Gulf of Valencia, a large spectator fleet enjoyed the race on the water while more than 200,000 people visited the America’s Cup Park during the Valencia Louis Vuitton Acts. More than 500 accredited media and 150 television crews covered the event.
