India Produces Effective ‘Bird Flu’ Medicine
In the fight against bird flu, a virus gripping many countries including Turkey, some success is being to appear and India has managed to produce an effective medicine against it.
Hetero Drugs General Manager Srinivas Reddy announced only 100,000 capsules of the medicine will be produced at the company’s Haydarabad facilities for now, but by the end of January, this amount will be increased to 900,000.
With an investment of $17 million over the next four months, said the manager, they will produce 20 million capsules to the international market.
The medicine has been tested on different age groups and receiving positive results, however, in order for the capsule to be effective, it should be taken within the first 48 hours of contracting the virus.
