Blogs that Defend Free Expression Sought
Blog Herald (one of my favorite Blog News outlets) writes that reporters without borders are seeking nominations of blogs that ‘defend free expression’. They are looking for blogs from countries where traditional press is under control of authorities and where blogging is giving individuals to express themselves despite this. Selection criteria include:
blog must be kept by an Internet user or a small group of Internet users. It must not belong to a governmental or non-governmental organisation.
- It must have existed for more than six months and must be updated regularly.
- It must use a specialised publishing tool such as typepad, blogger, blogspirit or an equivalent. Sites that do not use a standard online publishing tool but function in an identical manner to a weblog will be considered on a case by case basis.
- The blogs of professional journalists will be accepted.
- All blogs will be considered, whatever their language.’
