I officially declare this blogathon open. Tadarrrr!

Ok - now we’ve got all the hoohar out of the way - lets get down to some serious blogging - well I’m going to get down to some serious blogging and I’m hoping you’ll get down to some serious reading and hopefully some serious donating to a wonderful cause.

If you’re wondering what this is all about - its simple. Let me explain in the best way that I know how (for this time of the morning).

1. I was really touched by the images, sounds and stories that came out of Asia the days after the boxing day Tsunami. I wanted to do something to help.

2. I’m not good at many things - but one thing I DO know how to do is write blogs (if you don’t know what a blog is - look around - this website is one of them). Writing on blogs is my job - I do it every day. So I thought ‘what if could help the Tsunami Victims by blogging?’

3. So I am going to blog for 24 hours straight (starting three minutes ago) in the hope that some of you will feel so impressed (or so sorry for me - or so amused by my wittiness - or so touched by my sincerity - or so moved by my inspirational words - or so annoyed by my nagging) that you will make a donation to the Tsunami appeal through my favorite charity, the Oak Tree Foundation (more about them later).

4. I will write something on this blog once every 15 minutes (at least) for the next 24 hours. I can’t promise that it will always be worth reading (I guess that depends on your taste and my deliriousness) but I’m going to do my best to make sure we all have a good time and come out of this better (and slightly poorer) people.

5. All (100%, everything) proceeds from your donations and from Sponsorship/Advertising on this (and my other blogs) for today will go directly to Oak Tree. I will post a copy of the receipt as soon as I get one.

6. Make donations (big or small) through the button at the top of the Right hand side bar (conveniently labeled ‘Make a Donation’ (catchy eh!?) The system I’m using is PayPal which accepts most credit cards. If you would prefer to donate in another way (cheque or cash for Aussies) let me know and I’ll see if I can help.

Ok - I need coffee.
