The Victorian Premier, Steve Bracks, has marked the completion of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) redevelopment, in time for the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.

Kenya will be represented by four swimmers at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia, next month.
Two swimmers, former Olympic qualifier Ramadhan Vyombo and Nasra Shehan are training in Mombasa under coach Abdulkarim Abdulmalik while David Danford and Amir Shah will prepare for the Games in England.

Powerlifter George Taamaru will line up in his second Commonwealth Games after today being confirmed in the team for Melbourne.
The New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) in conjunction with Paralympics New Zealand today confirmed George in the team where he will compete in the Elite Athlete with Disability category.

The Malta Olympic Committee yesterday named a 33-strong contingent for the forthcoming Commonwealth Games in Melbourne next month.
