ST KILDA’S famous Sunday market has been banned as a security risk during the Commonwealth Games.
Stallholders expecting a bumper Sunday with the marathon on March 19 have been ordered to stay away and now some of the 200 market traders want to be compensated for the lost business.

Chief Commissioner Christine Nixon finished a tour of regional Commonwealth Games venues this morning when she met with Venue Commander for the Geelong Basketball Arena, Acting Inspector Mick Myers.

ARMY bomb disposal experts are already checking buildings in and around Melbourne to ensure they are safe for the Commonwealth Games.
