Mottram misses out on 5000m Gold

Augustine Choge has set a new Commonwealth Games record to win the Gold Medal in the Men’s 5000m event for Kenya. Fellow team mate Benjamin Limo has won the bronze medal while Craig Mottram of Australia has won the silver medal.

Tanzania Win Gold in Men’s Marathon

The youngest athlete in the field of the Men’s Marathon, Samson Ramadhani Nyonyi has won the Gold medal for Tanzania. Kenyan Fred Mogaka Tumbo has won the silver medal while England’s Daniel Robinson finished third for the bronze medal.

Australia sprint to Gold in Women’s marathon

In an incredibly exciting finish which came down to a sprint finish, Australian Kerryn McCann has won the Gold medal over a vigilant effort from Hellen Cherono Koskei of Kenya. Elizabeth Yelling from England finished third winning the bronze.

Swimmers enter camp ready for Commonwealth Games

Kenya will be represented by four swimmers at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia, next month.
Two swimmers, former Olympic qualifier Ramadhan Vyombo and Nasra Shehan are training in Mombasa under coach Abdulkarim Abdulmalik while David Danford and Amir Shah will prepare for the Games in England.

Kenya names athletes for Commonwealth Games in Melbourne

Kenya’s athletics officials have named a team of over 30 runners for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Melbourne, Australia in March this year.
Apart from Kosgey, other top names in the competition include world 5,000 champion, Benjamin Limo and Olympics 3,000m steeplechase champion Ezekiel Kemboi.

Kenya Selects 10 Boxers for Melbourne

Kenya has doubled its Manchester contigent of boxers to ten despite not coming away with any medals from the last Games. Kenya’s performance at the last Games has been described as dismal and put down to being under-prepared with boxers with very little international exposure.
