Four National Sports Academy (NSA) gymnasts have been selected for the Commonwealth Games to be held at Melbourne, Australia from March 15 to 26.

Several senior players, including striker Gagan Ajit Singh and Deepak Thakur have been dropped from the 20-member team for the upcoming Test series against Pakistan and the Commonwealth Games.

Ace Shooters Miss Commonwealth Placing

Indian Ace Shooters Anjali Bhagwat and Suma Shirur who won the team air rifle gold at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester have missed out on a spot in the team for Melbourne. Instead, they have been replaced by young guns Avneet Kaur Sidhu and Tejaswini Sawant.

Twin Dope Tests for Indian Weightlifters

After the fiasco at the Athens Olympics, the Indian Weightlifting Federation has decided to conduct two dope tests before clearing lifters for Melbourne.

Kunjarani certain to make it to Melbourne Commonwealth Games

Indian Weightlifter Kunjarani Devi is certain to make the Melbourne Games next year although she has been taking some time off to rest. Kunjarani won three gold medals at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002 and the 37 year old is once again a strong medal prospect for India.
