Sprinters dashing out of games

Jamaican sprinter Asafa Powell, the 100m world record holder, may not compete at the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Melbourne due to injury. 2003 World 100m champion Kim Collins from St Kitts and Nevis is already out of the event.

Huge Bajan Athletic contingent for Commonwealth Games

Barbadoes will have a record 132 athletes at the Commonwealth Games in March with that number possibly increasing further as more qualify closer to the games.
The Barbadoes Olympic Association now has to raise $500,000 USD to cover the cost of getting the athletes to Melbourne to compete at the Games.
