Australia’s Chantell Lee Newbery and Loudy Tourky have won the gold medal in the women’s synchronised 10m platform diving event with team mates Alexandra Lindsay Croak and Melissa Paige Wu winning the silver. Canada’s Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion have taken the bronze.

Alexandre Despatie has won the Gold medal for Canada in the Men’s 1m Springboard Diving event. Ken Nee Yeoh of Malaysia has won the silver and Steven John Barnett has won the bronze for Australia.

Bree Chastine Cole and Sharleen Marie Stratton have won the Gold medal in the Women’s Synchronised 3m Springboard Diving event for Australia. Melanie Rinaldi and Rebecca Lynn Shadd have won the silver for Canada and Tandi Jane Indergaard and Hayley Dawn Sage have won the bronze medal for England.

Thirteen-year-old Melissa Wu has officially been named in a 12-strong team hoping to continue Australia’s strong diving tradition at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne next month.
Wu will be the youngest Australian competing at the Games from any sport and weighing just 28 kilograms, will also be one of the smallest.

Chantelle Newbery has finally secured her spot on the Commonwealth Games diving team with a win in the 3m springboard event at the National Trials in Melbourne tonight.
Brisbane-based Newbery, 29, made history when she won Australia’s first diving gold medal in 80 years at the Athens Olympics in the 10m event.
