Commonwealth Games Review

Jessicah Schipper has won Gold for Australia in the Women’s 200m Butterfly. Team Mate Felicity Galvez has won the silver medal and Terri Dunning from England has won the bronze.

Jessicah Schipper has added another Gold Medal to her haul for Australia in the Women’s 200m butterfly with team mate Felicity Galvez taking the silver medal. Terri Dunning from England took home the bronze medal.

Ryan Pini has won Papua New Guinea’s first Gold medal at the XVIII Commonwealth Games in the Men’s 100m Butterfly. Australia’s Michael Klim won the Silver medal and New Zealand’s Moss Burmester who won the 200m Butterfly gold takes the bronze.

Jessicah Schipper and Lisbeth Lenton have won the Gold and Silver medals in the Women’s 100m Butterfly in the pool but Canada’s Audrey Lacroix has won the Bronze preventing another sweep as Alice Mills finished fourth.

Roland Schoeman has beaten the three Australian swimmers in the Men’s 50m Butterfly to claim the gold medal for South Africa. Matthew Targett claims the silver with Matthew Welsh getting the bronze.

Australia has landed another trifecta with Danni Miatke, Alice Mills and Jessicah Schipper winning the Gold, Silver and Bronze in the Women’s 50m Butterfly. Lize-Mari Retief from South Africa also picks up a Bronze medal for a third place tie.

The Australian’s have been talking up the events they have been wanting to take home not only just the gold medal, but a clean sweep of the Silver and Bronze as well. 8. Matthew Bowe (England) 2:02.34

New Zealanders Moss Burmester and Alison Fitch have performed well at the Australian swimming trials wil Burmester posting the second fastest time in the 200m butterfly.
Fitch matched the time that she clocked at the New Zealand swim trials in the 200m freestyle.
