Jason Gardener, the world indoor champion, has claimed his sixth career 60m win in Glasgow, sending a timely warning to his Commonwealth Games rivals.

Australian sprinter Matt Shirvington is still hoping to qualify for the 100m and compete at the Commonwealth Games in March despite having taken a five month break from athletics.
Shirvington clocked 10.43 seconds and 10.28 (wind assisted) at a recent meet in Canberra while he must ideally meet the ‘A’ standard for the Games at 10.21 [...]

‘Sprinter Matt Shirvington still hopes to qualify for the 100m at this year’s Melbourne Commonwealth Games despite taking a five-month break from athletics.
In his first races since the lead-up to last August’s Helsinki World Championships Shirvington clocked 10.43 seconds and 20 minutes later clocked a wind-assisted 10.28s at a Canberra interclub meet.’
