Uganda win Women’s 3000m Steeplechase
World Champion Dorcus Inzikuru has won the Gold medal in the Women’s 3000m Steeplechase for Uganda with Melissa Rollison and Donna MacFarlane from Australia winning the silver and bronze medals.
World Champion Dorcus Inzikuru has won the Gold medal in the Women’s 3000m Steeplechase for Uganda with Melissa Rollison and Donna MacFarlane from Australia winning the silver and bronze medals.
Another kiwi has joined those qualifying for the 3000m steeplechase, Rebecca Forlong, who finished fourth at a meet in Sydney, a little over second seconds under the Commonwealth Games qualifying time.
The race was won by Mellisa Rollinson of Queensland in 9m 31.30seconds.
New Zealand has a new record holder after the previous one was smashed by 10 secs by Kate McIlroy who finished the 3000m steeplechase in nine minutes 51.39 seconds.
McIlroy will also try to qualify for her specialist event, the 5000m.
