Fears raised over Commonwealth Games security - Transcript
With just five weeks remaining until the opening ceremony for the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, concerns remain over security at that event.
A report prepared by the Victoria Police Security Intelligence Group has highlighted serious problems with investigating the backgrounds of foreign nationals who work in private security.
As many as 5,000 private security guards will be employed to work during the Games, but Victoria Police’s Acting Deputy Commissioner, Bob Hastings, is confident that security is adequate.
