Police chief rejects Games policing worries
Victoria’s Chief Police Commissioner Christine Nixon has rejected concerns about police resources in country areas during the Commonwealth Games.
Officers and equipment from regional stations will be sent to Melbourne for the Games next month, but the State Opposition says it will compromise safety in the country.
All leave and training has been cancelled to maintain the normal level of protection across the state.
