Queens Baton Arrives on Australian Soil
The Queens Baton Relay will arrive in Norfolk Island on Sunday and will spend four days there as the Relay makes its first trip to the island in the Games history.
The Baton will be rowed to shore to the historic convict colony in longboats just as the descendants of the Bounty mutineers did 150 years ago.
Norfolk Island is the first Australian soil to greet the Baton before it heads on to New Zealand for a short stop before arriving on the Australian Continent.
Norfolk Island will field 25 competitors at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games in Lawn Bowls, Squashand Shooting.
