Shirvo set to fire at Games Trials
The Commonwealth Games track and field selection trials begin in Sydney last Thursdat with competition in the men’s sprints set to be a highlight.
Eight sprinters will compete for three spots in the Australian team.
Veteran Australian sprinter Matt Shirvington said he was keen to compete in front of a home crowd in Melbourne after disappointing performances at the Sydney Olympics.
Shirvington said he will need to win the 100 and 200 metres events to ensure a place at the Commonwealth Games.
