Singapore to send largest ever contingent to Commonwealth Games
Singapore will be sending its largest contingent to the 18th Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. 63 athletes will compete in seven sports - athletics, swimming, badminton, gymnastics, netball, shooting and table-tennis.
Team Singapore will also comprise more women, outnumbering for the first time the number of male athletes, 36 to 27.
Singapore has participated in 13 Commonwealth Games, beginning in 1958 in Cardiff.
At the last Games, Singapore bagged 4 gold, 2 silver and 7 bronze medals.
