Tim Benjamin Writes off Commonwealth Games Gold
‘Tim Benjamin, the world’s fourth ranked 400 metres runner in 2005, has practically written off his chances of winning the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in March.
“The Commonwealths may come a little early for me because of the problems I’ve had this winter,” said the Welshman.
Benjamin flew to Ireland during the Christmas break to consult Gerard Hartmann about a problem with his achilles tendon. He is the physical therapist credited with getting Kelly Holmes fit enough to win two gold medals at the 2004 Olympics.’
