Depression spikes after, not during, holidays
‘The shortage of hospital beds for the mentally ill becomes an even more vital issue this time of year. But not in the way you might expect, according to Herb Ozer, director of behavioral health services for Providence Health System.
Ozer says that in December, gloomy weather and unfulfilled expectations notwithstanding, there is a decrease in the number of people seeking psychiatric treatment.’
