Instant Messaging Proving an Instant Hit
‘Westminster resident David Christianson completely understand his kids’ love for instant messaging.
“We use IM for work purposes,” said Christianson, managing director of Concordant, a technology consulting company. “We’re a consulting company with people scattered throughout New England. We still send tradition e-mail, but IM is very common, and a lot of clients use it, too.”
Christianson noted IM-ing is becoming a great tool for commercial companies.
“I was recently on the Lands’ End Web site and they had a section which allowed me to instant message a customer service representative if I want to chat live,” Christianson said.
Christianson rattled off a few concerns his company has surrounding instant messaging, which are shared by many companies.’
