Plao wins over AOL
‘Plaxo said Wednesday it has inked a deal with AOL to power the address books in AOL’s instant messaging and email services.
The financial terms weren’t disclosed, but the deal gives the Mountain View, California, online directory company a chance to expand its user base by tens of millions overnight. “This changes the network,” said Ben Golub, CEO of Plaxo. “The more members in the network, the more valuable it is.”
Plaxo claims to currently have 5 million users. Its basic service of self-updating online address books is free. It makes its money through its premium and for-payment services….’
