‘Eight major wireless companies including Telefonica Moviles SA, China Mobile and Orange have announced an initiative to promote instant messaging through mobile phones across their networks at the GSM conference today.

In a statement, the GSM association said the other members of the initiative are TeliaSonera AB, TIM, T-Mobile, and GSM operators in India.’
