Softwired today announced the release of its Java [JMS] based Instant Messaging chat program called iBusU under the open source Apache License, Version 2.0. iBusU takes advantage of the JMS classes enabling real time chat between two and many users.
iBusU and ‘uBusMe‘ – iBusU is Softwired’s contribution to Instant Messaging [IM], an application written in Java [JMS] that delivers non-restrictive, secure and compliant enterprise instant messaging. Targeted primarily for corporations, individuals and workgroups, who collaborate on time-sensitive and mission-critical information, iBusU enables communication in real time about confidential and/or common interest topics. iBusU brings richness to group interaction and promotes frequent and extensive usage of online communication within any corporation. Used successfully by Softwired for its internal messaging, iBusU is released to the open source community for use and further development. Softwired will include the iBusU IM client as a demo application for deployment in its next release of iBus//Mobile software for mobile devices scheduled later this month.
To run iBusU users can access one of Softwired’s [or any other JMS provider] messaging middleware products – iBus//MessageBus [for peer-to-peer architectures] or iBus//MessageServer [for publisher/subscriber relationships]. The server acts as a central broker or conduit between the two or more clients’ instances. Softwired’s messaging server [LE trial version] as well as the source code of iBusU [zip file] is available for download by registering at http://www.softwired-inc.com/insidesoftwired. Written in Java [JMS] the iBusU code is open source and can be integrated with any other JMS provider to get going and start chatting. As iBusU is published under the Apache License Version 2.0 users are bound by the terms of this license, which is free of charge.
