Gossip Sources tell In Touch magazine that 98 Degrees star Nick Lachey is trying to convince wife Jessica Simpson to start a family. The singer is “planting the seeds in Jessica’s head that he is looking forward to becoming a father - in a big way,” one said. ” He knows Jessica isn’t exactly ready, but he wants her to know it’s on his radar and that having a baby is something that can’t be brushed under the carpet. He wants Jessica to start thinking about it.” In response to those who feel it might hamper Jessica’s career, Nick reasoned to a pal, “If we have a baby, it’ll add a dimension and keep people interested. I don’t think it’ll be a hindrance to Jessica’s career, I think it would endear her even more to fans.” Source
Gossip Star magazine reports that 98 Degrees star Nick Lachey had wanted to go on vacation with wife Jessica Simpson in Paris, but had to quickly change plans after Jessica’s meddling father Joe got wind of the trip and wanted to get MTV to film a MTV special, according to a source. Joe hoped filming ‘The Newlyweds Take A Honeymoon’ in France would show how popular Jessica is in Europe. Nick then secretly booked a vacation at Hawaii’s Fairmont Kea Lani Maui, and resisted Jessica’s request to invite her sister Ashlee and boyfriend Ryan Cabrera. “Nick held his ground, telling her, ‘Baby, this is just for us. I want you all to myself’.” But midway through the vacation, Ashlee and Ryan ended up joining them in Maui. Source

Us Weekly caught up with Jessica Simpson and her husband Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees who both strongly denied troubles with their marriage after Nick attended a bachelor party which featured porn star Jessica Jaymes and another girl performing a lesbian sex show. “I knew what was going on because Nick and some of his buddies planned the party,” Jessica explained. “I’ve always totally trusted Nick, and he trusts me. The easy argument against Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson is simply that they are grossly over-exposed.
MTV, Disney and their record labels churn out albums, prime-time specials and reality TV series starring the cheery couple in bulk. Nobody - certainly not a pair of below-average, overemoting pop singers - warrants this much coverage.
With this mind-set, it would make perfect sense to vilify the MTV Home Video release of “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica - The Complete First Season.”
But, doggone it, it’s near impossible.
Nick and Jessica are like two cocker spaniel puppies. They gnaw on the furniture legs, make a mess on the floor and in general are a nuisance. But once you look into their big, brown eyes (blue in Lachey’s case), you would have to own the blackest of hearts and darkest of souls to really hate these people.
For one thing, the fly-on-the-wall reality series is a fairly accurate reflection of the trials and tribulations of a young married couple learning to live together and share their space for the first time. Simpson was a well-publicized virgin bride and did not shack with Lachey before their vows.
Despite the Lacheys being multimillionaires living in a swanky LA-area house, their on-camera lives are fairly suburban. Simpson complains that all they ever do is watch sports on TV. Lachey is irritated by his bride’s slovenly housekeeping habits and spending $750 on two bras and two panties.

“I’m going to be doing an exercise video, just because it’s fun, and why not? Exercise is such a huge part of my life after the role of Daisy, so I just thought it would be cool.”
