A Public Affair - album cover
I’ve been watching on Amazon lately to see when they’re updating the cover image for Jessica’s album, A Public Affair. People were complaining that they’ve got the old image but today it’s been updated:
It reminds me of a J Lo photo shoot for some reason. It’s a little strange seeing Jess in such a casual t-shirt for the photo but she looks wonderful.
What do you think of the album cover?

hey…does anybody knows what means that ring that Jessica is ALWAYS wearing??? She had like her whole life with that…even before Nick i guess….that has to mean something special, does anybody knows?

This far I have found out this:
“still wearing her ‘promise’ to keep my virginity ring from her Dad?”
“He gave Jessica a sort of wedding ring and had her take a vow to him. She promised to remain chaste until marriage”
“He even got her to wear a promise ring when she was a kid that promised the dad would be the only man in her life and she HAD to stay a virgin till she got married.”
But I’m not sure if it’s the same ring on the picture.

Jessica Simpson’s father Joe Simpson made the singer promise to stay a virgin until she married, during a ceremony when she was twelve. Simpson Sr, who doubles as Jessica’s manager, handed the 24-year-old a promise ring and vowed to be the only man in her life until she married. He explains, “I’m going to tell you how beautiful you are every day. Even when you make a mistake, you are someone special. And I am going to be that person until the day you find a man to do that in my place.” Jessica - who married Nick Lachey in October 2002 - then promised she would remain a virgin. Joe adds, “What better gift to give her husband? Never touched by another man.”

The idea of a purity ring given by Joe Simpson seems silly and pointless now!!!!! Did you guys hear Nick compare Jessica and Vanessa it was kinda too harsh even though she deserved it!!!!!

I think the ring she’s wearing now either is or was or represents a ring her late grandmother gave her. I heard that awhile ago…
Carrie, I did read the comparison, - Vanessa is completely and apeals to Nick both mentally and physically NOW! ! ! ! Jessica at 18 just swept Nick off his feet and vice-versa.. But as we learned time changed both of them.
The bottom line is - Nick probably didn’t say that because he is steadfast about not commenting on his private life NOW, people around him are satisfying the press with any nonsense…

I love the album cover. Jessica looks beautiful. I do kinda think it doesn’t go with the flow of her new songs, though. The songs are very 80’s, clubby, and childish, but the cover is so light and fresh. Just seems weird. But still beautiful.
