Jessica Simpson believes she’s delivered a convincing performance in forthcoming movie The Dukes of Hazzard - she’s relieved her role as DAISY in the movie is close to her own personality and hopes this will make her character more believable.
“It was important for me to not go so far away from my persona and what people already knew me as.”

Reynolds most enjoyed working alongside Jessica Simpson in her Daisy Dukes. “She really got in shape,” said the actor, who bonded on the set with Simpson’s grandpa, who, like Reynolds, was a football jock. “If I’d had Jessica’s legs, I would have been All-American.”

Former ‘Jackass’ star Johnny Knoxville shot down rumors of marital troubles between his ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ co-star Jessica Simpson and hubby Nick Lachey. “It’s such bullshit,” Knoxville insisted. “He visits her on the set, and she is just the sweetest girl.”

As two of the stars of the upcoming movie the Dukes Of Hazzard, Willie Nelson and Jessica Simpson will be recording a duet for the film’s soundtrack.
Nelson has already recorded the famous Dukes Of Hazzard theme song, originally sung by Waylon Jennings.
Simpson plays Daisy Duke, while Nelson plays Uncle Jesse in the movie, which hits theaters on June 25.
Simpson adds of her legendary singing co-star, “He’s amazing–one of the best people I’ve ever met.”

Apparently Jessica Simpson wanted personal trainer Michael Alexander (who helped her get into shape for The Dukes of Hazzard) to help out for her exercise video but SpeedFIT said no to him as his workout style didn’t fit their image.
It remains to be seen as to whether a lawsuit will result (it’s a multimillion dollar contract!).
SSimpson’s business manager said Alexander’s help would increase the marketability of the exercise video and efforts were being made to resolve the dispute.

Episode 2: Jessica gets a root canal, meets Ray Crone (Extreme Makeover) and celebrates Halloween.
Episode 3: Nick and Jessica spend quality time together before heading their separate ways: Nick to NY and Jessica to Baton Rouge where she begins filming The Dukes of Hazzard.
Exciting news for Jessica Simpson fans - she will be singing a duet with Willie Nelson in The Dukes of Hazzard!
Simpson won’t sing as part of the new recording of the show’s iconic theme song – that performance belongs to Willie Nelson, who plays Uncle Jesse. However, she will duet with Nelson on a new composition for the movie. “It was something that I wanted to do and I didn’t know that he wanted to do it,” says Simpson, “but he asked me on-set the other day to sing with him. So, we’re trying to find the best song to do, and we’ll be recording that.”
Playing Daisy Duke has been a pleasant change of pace for Jessica Simpson, who says she has been so welcomed by the whole cast and crew. “Just the whole atmosphere; Johnny and Seann, and Jay, everybody has made me feel so very, very comfortable,” she says. “And they’re crazy anyway, so it’s OK if I mess up. It’s kind of cool for your first movie to go in completely open and make mistakes. That’s just the personality that they have and what makes them so good at what they do.”

More tidbits are coming out from the set of The Dukes of Hazzard.
Joining Burt Reynolds (Boss Hogg) are Sean Williams Scott as Bo, Johnny Knoxville as Luke, and even Willie Nelson (Willie frikkin’ Nelson!) as Uncle Jesse. And, most importantly, Jessica Simpson plays the part of Daisy Duke, shimmying into the super-short-shorts that every guy drooled about for the entire ’80s.
I had a chance to visit the set for the movie, which was filmed in the wooded outskirts of Baton Rouge, LA. The creators stressed that they’re shooting for a tone that’s a mixture of action and comedy, the comparison they used was Lethal Weapon and Beverly Hills Cop. They wanted to make a film that was the anti-Starsky & Hutch, making sure that it wasn’t campy and not a spoof, but more of homage to Smokey And The Bandit, Blues Brother and The Cannonball Run.
The upcoming movie will feature all the usual characters (including General Lee), and stay true to the spirit of the show, but it takes place in modern times. For instance, Bo and Luke have visions of NASCAR glory. Bo and Luke give Boss Hogg hell, they have to save the family farm, and they try to track down a a lost Civil War payroll.
