Jessica and Nick’s Valentine’s Day Presents
Jessica Simpson told Us Weekly:
“We had a big Christmas, present wise, so we’re going to scale it back a little bit on Valentine’s Day. We’re going to have a $20 budget and see what we come up with.”

Jessica Simpson proved recently that even celebrities sometimes get star-struck. “The Dukes of Hazzard” star reportedly lost her cool when she spotted “One Life to Live” star Ilene Kristen at a restaurant in Los Angeles. An eyewitness told Us Weekly that Simpson approached Kristen’s table and asked, “Excuse me, do you play Roxy on ‘One Life To Live’?” When a clearly amused Kristen nodded ‘yes,’ Simpson shrieked, “You’re my absolute favorite! Can I have your autograph?” Source
The ‘Newlyweds’ beauty, who is married to former boyband star Nick Lachey, has confessed that she finds the friendly mammals as scary as sharks but tried to overcome her phobia on a recent holiday with her husband. She said: “A dolphin might as well be a shark to me. I didn’t want to get in the water. But I put my wetsuit on and said: ‘I’m going to face this fear.’ I was determined that I was going to swim with the dolphins. But I was scared to death.”
Meanwhile, the blonde babe says she struggled to adapt to married life because she had no experience of looking after herself. Jessica, 24, whose sister is teen star Ashlee Simpson, says she found it difficult living on her own initially because she’d always had everything done for her. She told Britain’s OK magazine: “I have always been taken care of my whole life. My mom made the bed and did the whole thing. But Nick is so independent. He’s been doing his laundry and everything since he was very young. So when we got married our two worlds collided and there were a couple of issues that had to be tweaked.” Source
“I think they probably issued a statement because they thought they owed it to their fans. There are people who are fans of them together, and it’s good to hear from the person and not believe the lies.” - Jessica Simpson, commenting on Pitt and Aniston’s separation.
Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey presented the PCA for Favorite TV Comedy to Will & Grace.
Josh Duhamel presented Favorite reality show (other) to Newlyweds. Jessica said, “I was a cheesy pop star. Nick was in a boy band. We weren’t supposed to get married because it would ruin our careers. And now here we are.”
“[Monique Lhuillier] has a very hip sense of style,” says Jessica Simpson, another repeat customer. “It’s sexy and sophisticated at the same time. That’s what any girl wants to look like when she steps out of the house.”
“The creepiest aspects of our Orwellian world are A - The media’s ability to disregard important issues (genocide in Sudan, looming environmental crises, widespread voter fraud in the 2004 elections, etc) while focusing on irrelevant non-issues NICK (LACHEY) and JESSICA (SIMPSON), DAVID BECKHAM’s salary and indiscretions, JANET JACKSON’s nipple, etc.
“And B - The public’s complicity in this process - more Americans watched AMERICAN IDOL than the presidential debates. It’s almost as if we’ve collectively written a new cultural constitution: ‘We the people want fluff. We want light news about easy to subjects. We want friendly politics with simple cliches.’
Poor Jess gets listed in a news roundup of 2004, with her infamous quote upon being introduced to Interior Secretary Gale Norton, she said, “You’ve done a nice job decorating the White House.”
“Our relationship is better than it’s ever been. We are absolutely not breaking up.”
- on reports that her marriage to Nick Lachey was on the rocks.
Sounds like Jessica Simpson is having a lot of fun filming her first movie role, as Daisy Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard. She’s even doing some of her own stunts:
“I did the whole driving-school stunt work stuff and it’s been really fun. Yesterday, I got to kick somebody in his chest and knock him down and take their order with my heel in their neck. It was funny. Daisy’s that kind of waitress. Don’t piss her off!”
