Divorce set to get nasty
If you were hoping for a “nice” divorce (if there’s such a thing) like Brad and Jen’s, think again. Nick filed papers at LA Superior Court on Friday where he asked for alimony, along with all the jewelry he gave Jessica and he also wants to keep all his income from after their break up.
Crazy thing to be arguing over too: Jessica says they broke up on November 23rd but Nick says it was on December 13. But there’s a reason for the argument… you guessed it: cold hard cash. Jessica did a concert worth almost one million dollars on December 5th. Nick says he’s entitled to half of that money.
The fact that Nick’s asking for the jewelry back is a strong indicator that things are going to get a lot messier for Jess and Nick this year, sadly.
The thing is though, Jess should have given back the jewerly if she didn’t want to patch things up. It wouldn’t seem right to wear jewerly from a former lover and it’s not as though she needs the money.

I think asking for the engagement ring & wedding ring is fair enough seeing as it is given as a promise of marriage etc. I dont think he has the right to ask for the other jewellery he gave Jessica for Birthday, Xmas & Valentine gifts,they are gifts! Anyway its not as if Jessica got any wear out of the jewellery he gave her anyway, when did we ever see her in anything twice? She wouldnt miss it.

Nick is probably asking for misc. jewlery back more because they “are over” than for the money it is worth. I am sure Nick is not perfect (none of us are) but it does appear that the things he bought her came from his heart, they had sentimental value and now that has been lost. I’m not saying his requests are right or wrong, but he did sacrifice a lot and helped her to be successful. Now she has left him behind.

well I’d have to check back at the birthday episode where Nick turned 30… but Jessica gave Nick a watch for his birthday and it costed a pretty penny… personally speaking… unless he’s planning on selling it on ebay that watch should be all that he’s interested in–jewelry wise… because unless he’s fruity, lets just face it, diamonds aren’t a man’s best friend.

thanks angela. I just heard the song. I love it! I’m definitely going to buy the C.D. to support him. He really does have a great voice. So, I went on his site and there is a message board, and someone was saying that the house keeper from season 1 went on Oprah and told a bunch of lies about him. Did anyone see that? What did she say?? Every time I watch newlyweds now, he just seems so genuine and really in love. And JEss seems like a self-involved brat

its ethical to return the engagment and wedding rings since as what said, these are representation of their marriage which they are now about to dissolve, meaning, no more marriage. so why would jess still keep them?

if i may add as well, nick’s been soooo good to jess ever since, now i think he’s letting her see the other side of him. i don’t a baby talk from jess will not change nick’s mind as well.
