Dukes of Hazzard gets thumbs down
This movie reviewer gave the movie 1 star.
The movie treatment of the aw-shucks television series “The Dukes of Hazzard” tries hard to be racist, sexist and homophobic. The film even throws in a bit of animal cruelty, but nobody is offended, threatened or laughing.
Jessica Simpson looks lost on the set. (You can practically hear the director off-screen giving her point-by-point instructions on every scene: “OK, just bend over a little more. Look at the camera. Smile. Perfect.”)

None of this is true. I saw the movie and there was no animal cruelty at all. Jessica Simpson loves animals and probably would be against the movie if it had animal cruelty in it. I know this becasue I met her in person and talked to her for about 20 minutes. She also was not lost at all doing the movie she said that she loved it and that she wanted to do more.

I think this was an awesome movie. Jessica Simpson did a great job, especailly for her first big movie. No one could have played the role better than her. I definetly would not give Dukes of Hazzard thumbs down.

I am not a crazy Dukes of Hazzards fan but I enjoyed the movie and thought it was funny and exciting. Some times the critics get it wrong and this time they got it WAY WRONG! Good job to Jessica and all the cast. I might just have to buy it when it comes out!

I saw it and thought it was funny. The cast was all pretty good, loved Jessica and Seann William Scott who was hysterical! I don’t think Johnny Knoxville was any good though, there definately could have had better casting there. Overall I give it 2 thumbs up. Great job on your first movie Jess!

I am a die hard Jessica Simpson fan. So of course I had to go see the Dukes of Hazzard! I brought my boyfriend with me and a skeptical friend of mine along to watch it. Not only did Jessica surprise me with her acting talents but I couldn’t stop laughing. To be honest with you I had only seen maybe two or three episodes of the Dukes of Hazzard. But I think I might have caught the re-runs more often if this happened to be the original cast of the show. Willie Nelson is adorable, funny and sweet as Uncle Jesse. Jessica is hot, strong and vibrant as Daisy. I promise you will not take yours eyes off of her. Seann William Scott and Johhny Knoxville make a hilarious duo as cousins, best friends and amazingly skilled drivers. Guys you will love the car scenes. My boyfriend couldn’t stop talking about some of the crazy positions they got the General Lee into. And of course Burt Reynolds gives a memorable performance as the wickdily sly Boss Hogg. Giving you every perspective I can my friend who came with me had never seen The Dukes of Hazzard, isn’t a huge Jessica fan and ultimately wasn’t sure if she was going to enjoy the movie said she loved it, couldn’t stop laughing and would definitely see it again. My boyfriend who came with my mostly for the car scenes (and I’m sure to get a glimpse of Jessica’s newly toned derriere) was shocked at how funny it was and loved the antics the two Dukes cousins got into with their beloved General Lee. So would I reccomend it? Definitely! Would I see it again? In a heart beat. Am I going to buy it when it comes out? Well would I be a die hard fan without owning Jessica’s first movie debuet?
Go see it. I promise you won’t be dissapointed!

I just went and watched it. The Dukes of Hazzard is a movie about the South… the car in the movie and the show was the General Lee, but what makes that racist? They throw one part in with them having smut on their faces and the critics go balistic. I thought Jessica did great though, I don’t think anyone else could have been a better Daisy. Sean William Scott was hilarious, he was PERFECT, and so was Johnny Knoxville and Willie Nelson, I can’t remember the guy’s name they casted as Roscoe but he was great too. I wasn’t too crazy about Burt being Hogg… I guess my being a huge Duke Boys fan, their’s only one Boss! But overall the movie was fantastic… definitely one I would watch over and over again. TWO THUMBS UP, from a die hard Dukes fan!
