How it all ended - according to Nick
Be on the lookout for the new Rolling Stone issue (out this week) where Nick is interviewed about how his marriage to Jessica fell apart. Nick says he didn’t know his marriage was over until Jessica told him (ouch). He also says that Newlyweds blurred the line between playing a part on the show and what actually was reality. Some other quotes from Nick’s interview:
“I don’t pretend to understand (former father-in-law) Joe (Simpson). … I don’t know if he ever liked me. To this day I couldn’t say. It was painful. Do I think Joe drove a rift between us? No. Was he an influence in our marriage? Absolutely.”
“I don’t know if there were other men. But if she did cheat, it was the result of something bigger, not the reason we didn’t work. … Sometimes I think it would be easier if I had just walked in the house and found her in bed with a guy. That would be clear-cut. End of story. I wouldn’t have to deal with the uncertainty of adultery.”
“It breaks my heart that I couldn’t make Jessica happy,” he mumbles, his chin pressed into his chest. “I wanted to be everything to my wife. I wanted her to look at me with love in her eyes, the way she did at the beginning, and have her feel like I was the most wonderful, awe-inspiring man on the planet. And when that stopped, it was the worst feeling in the world. I’d marry her all over again because I still love her. It would be a lot easier to walk away if I didn’t.”

I don’t think Jess is a skank I think Nick feels the same way!!!!! He’s being really classy about the situation!!!! While I think there is hope for Jess, definetly not for Joe!!!!! He took the song “You don’t have to let go” too seriously!! I think Joe manipulated them and on some level Jess knew, but couldn’t say no to her father!!!!! Their divorce isn’t final yet I know it’s pointless, but I hope they get back together!!! Come on Jess you’re better than this realize you have the real deal!!! JOE GO BACK TO THE CHURCH, YOU NEED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah but you guys saw Jess wearing her wedding ring???
And she start wearing it right after Nick told a magazine that he still loves her, and that, he will marry her again, if she wants to!!!!
Mayber she’s trying to send him some kind of message!!!!!
Im still hoping these two work it out!!!!
Im sure that Jess still loves Nick too…. if not, why was she wearing the ring around her neck, and, a source close to her says : “she wants to keep her memories of Nick close to her heart!”

If this Rolling Stone story is true, then my heart goes out to Nick more than ever. It also seems like Jessica is easily influenced, and perhaps the reason she left him was not because she stopped loving him. It doesn’t help that they never seemed to have “alone” time, because she always has an entourage of people around her (like Cacee and Ken her hair stylist) Regardless, we will never know all the details. But my heart goes out to them…

no matter how you look at it, it’s a sad situation… I, personally, enjoyed Newlyweds, I just hate to hear that it was the cause of them growing apart, or lack of growing together. It sucks to hear how uncomfortable they actually were when the cameras were rolling and how they felt like they were playing roles and stuff. Every now and then, my husband was like man the cameras going every where, even on the “getaways” has to be irritating. I know,… it’s no telling how much they got paid for it, but still, it’s sad to see the two that we all thought were totally in love, actually were uncomfortable with each other, and MTV just edited to the point of what we wanted to see.
I really hope they both find true love and happiness, even if it’s not with each other, surely to a point the two that we saw on the show is the people we came to love, and those two really deserve a peaceful life without the MTV camera crew or paparazzi constantly there, even if it means that we, the fans, may not be able to see every waking moment.

Kimberly, you hit the nail on the head about their ‘every waking moment’… That’s what we wanted to see and now we miss it - BUT all in all it ended up ruining their marriage…
AND another point - it’s not what they got paid for Newlyweds (which really wasn’t allot) it was how that show catapulted them into ’super stars’ and the money poured in!!!!!

I don’t think Newlyweds was the cause of their split. Newlyweds just made them much more famous, but that’s a situation that sooner or later it was going to happen…I’m glad and happy cause they opened their house, their memories and their whole life to their fans. I basically think that, the pressure of her manager (Papa), was the influence of their fights and misunderstanding, cause he was sooo focus on Jess career, that he forgot about Nick’s career, and mostly, about her daugther personal life!

I think Jessica has tried to play an innocent sweet girl on Newlyweds and has always taken pride in being so honest. If she was so willing to let people video tape her everylday with Nick why not come and be hones to about her divorce and if she really cheated. Nick seems to be the one that is being honest. She is just trying to be quiet and act like she is so hurt be the divorce she is just a slut bottom line no talent

wow, i just read the article. IT’s sooo sad! My husband and I designed and built our home together, and I can’t imagine him moving out and me seeing all the empty rooms, and our empty dreams and future. Gosh, I don’t understand why she didn’t want to go to counseling?! Her, of all people, who only sang about true and never-ending love! I’m so dissapointed.

Nick got dissed by Jessica -AGAIN!!! On one of those entertainment shows last night, Jessica invited Nick to dinner at her new house, to Nick’s dismay all she wanted to talk about was what he’s been saying to the press lately!!!!
Nick was dumbfounded and said something like “WHEN WILL I EVER LEARN?”

well i guess this just comes to show people that regardless if you live in a 4000sqft home, all the BMWs your Daddy can buy, millions of dollars etc, it can’t make you happy and it don’t buy love. All the stuff that they moved out of the house was just material things, those $2000 dollar sheets, the few pairs of panties for ?? what ever amount of money, and everything else she spontaineously bought on a shopping spree with her mama, aint going to make her happy, in time she will find that out, it might be a wake up call when Nick finds a new love and is having a baby, and then it will be too little, too late for Jess, and she will only have herself… and daddy to blame.
