CNET reviews the Toshiba Qosmio G35-AV600 and gives it a rating of 8.1 out of 10. They write - ‘Since its debut in August 2004, Toshiba’s Qosmio line has been at the forefront of laptop technology. With the third-generation model, the Qosmio G35-AV600, Toshiba again delivers a best-in-class multimedia experience that’s built on a state-of-the-art set of components, including Intel’s new Core Duo chipset, and includes virtually every feature under the sun. As with past models, the G35-AV600 offers one of the best 17-inch wide-screen displays around, a double-layer DVD drive, and an integrated TV tuner, as well as a full complement of ports and connections, a rocking set of stereo speakers, and an unparalleled set of multimedia controls. Thankfully, the price has dropped to $2,399 (from $3,000 for past top-of-the-line models), but this laptop is still a bit much for the casual user. ‘
PC Mag reviews the Toshiba Qosmio G35-AV600 and writes - ‘The Toshiba Qosmio G35-AV600, the long-awaited upgrade to the Qosmio G25-AV513, is the most complete Media Center laptop on the market in terms of components and A/V features. Toshiba improves upon this model’s predecessor by upgrading the processor to an Intel Core Duo, adding a fingerprint reader, and introducing more intuitive touchpad controls. So I say without reserve that the new Qosmio retains the Editors’ Choice title earned by the G25, not just for the improved components and performance, but also for the $600 drop in price.’
Laptop Magazine reviews the Toshiba Qosmio G35-AV600 and writes - ‘The G35’s 16 x 11.6 x 1.8-inch black case is offset by a metallic silver top and a thin slice of silver trim around the lower casing. Pop open the lid and your eyes are immediately drawn to the massive 17-inch WXGA+ (1440 x 900-pixel) widescreen display. The screen is crisp, colorful, and exceptionally bright, thanks to a combination of Toshiba’s QosmioEngine video enhancement and Ultimate TruBrite dual-lamp backlighting technologies; the viewing angle is also outstanding. The display’s glossy coating enhances the overall image quality, but it tends to reflect ambient light and can be distracting when viewing dark movie scenes.’
