Averatec 1100 Review at Laptop Mag

Averatec-1100Laptop Magazine reviews the Averatec 1100 and writes - ‘For a highly portable, space-saving notebook, the Averatec 1100 fits well into any mobile lifestyle. Don’t be fooled by this ultraportable’s small stature; the Averatec 1100 packs several features available in the big boys, such as a dual-layer DVD burner and an 80GB hard drive. We just wish it included a Core Duo or Core 2 Duo processor and had better graphics capabilities. At 10.4 x 7.9 x 1.1 inches, the Averatec 1100 is smaller than a standard sheet of paper, and at 3.4 pounds, feels almost as light. The slim but sturdy body is accented with an appealing black-and-silver color scheme. Opening the notebook reveals a gorgeous, 10.6-inch, 1280 x 768-pixel widescreen display. Web pages and images were especially sharp and colorful. DVDs looked good with the screen’s wide viewing angles, but the sound was less than spectacular.’

Dell Latitude D420 Review at Laptop Mag

Dell-D420-Laptop-1
Laptop Mag reviews the Dell Latitude D420 and writes - ‘Executives and IT managers will find a lot to like about the Dell Latitude D420. Road warriors and frequent flyers will appreciate its light yet durable design and all-day battery life, while IT departments will be pleased to see that the D420 comes with Dell’s full suite of management utilities and is Microsoft Vista Capable. The D420 has the footprint of a sheet of paper and is just an inch thick. Weighing only three pounds (or 3.6 pounds with the nine-cell battery our system came with), the unit feels light but solid. The metallic dark-silver chassis, like other Latitude D models, is conservative (almost plain) and inoffensive.’

Toshiba Tecra M6-EZ6611

Toshiba-M6Laptop Magazine reviews the Toshiba Tecra M6-EZ6611 and writes - ‘The Toshiba Tecra M6 ($1,494 direct) is a nicely equipped ultraportable for business travelers who want a lightweight notebook that won’t break their budget. Unlike competing systems, such as the Dell Latitude D420 and the Lenovo ThinkPad X series, the M6 has a built-in optical drive (a multiformat DVD burner in this configuration). That brings the weight to just above four pounds (versus three-plus pounds for the others), but road warriors who prefer not to have to keep track of a media slice probably won’t mind the M6’s extra heft.’

Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet Review at PC Pro

Lenovo-Thinkpad-X60
PC Pro reviews the Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet and writes - “As an aside, I also enjoyed using an app I hadn’t seen before, admittedly nothing to do with Lenovo, called the Handwriting Analysis Tool. It’s part of Microsoft’s PowerToys for Tablet PC and proved scarily accurate: after analysing a brief sentence, it told me I was: “optimistic and enthusiastic about your future”. Plus: “you are sharp and impatient” before adding “you keep your inner-most thoughts to yourself”. Now that’s sorted, I’ll cancel the psychiatrist sessions. With prices starting at £1,660 exc VAT, the ThinkPad tablet will be relying on quality rather than price to knock HP’s tc4400 off the A List. To discover exactly how it fares, look out for a full review in a future issue of PC Pro.”

ASUS R1F

Asus-R1FNotebook.cz reviews the ASUS R1F tand writes - “Tablets are a special kind of notebooks, that find their place almost entirely in the business sphere. That’s where the R1F most probably goes as well and he will definitelly not be considered an outsider there. Right the opposite: it has got an inch larger display than most of the tablets nowadays and today it is the only tablet featuring Core 2 Duo processors (came after this review was originaly written).”

Asus R2H

Asus-R2HOnly UMPC reviews the Asus R2H where they write - ‘The Good: Clean design, great bundle of hardware & software, GPS, Extended battery & Finger Print Reader. The Bad: The finger print reader keeps prompting even if you touched it by mistake (and believe me it’s hard not to touch it, because of it placement). Not for those who think this is going to replace their main PC (this being Celeron M 900 MHz)’

Nikon Coolpix S7c Review at CNET

Nikon-Coolpix-S7C
CNET reviews the Nikon Coolpix S7c and writes - ‘Nikon’s Coolpix S7c is a nice ultracompact camera. Though there’s still plenty more Nikon can do to make its Wi-Fi functionality more useful, it’s done a good job of delivering what it promised in this area. If Wi-Fi doesn’t mean much to you, Sony’s Cyber Shot DSC-T10 delivers slightly faster performance and comparable or slightly sharper image quality.’
