According to a news release, the school district is partnering with MassMutual Financial Group and Stacy Financial Group to offer the free, 10-year term life insurance policies through Ready to Learn, the district’s program to reduce barriers to student learning. Called “LifeBridge Free Life Insurance Program,” the insurance policy allows for $50,000 to be put in trust to pay for educational expenses of a child upon the death of a parent or legal guardian. The program is part of MassMutual’s nationwide philanthropic program to give away $1 billion in life insurance by 2007, according to a news release.
