Credibility of Accuser’s Family
The case will in large part rely on the testimony of the boy, now 15, and his family, and whether or not the jury ultimately believes their version of events, or that supplied by Jackson’s side.
The defence team made it clear, during arguments on pretrial motions, that its main strategy will be to lob enough accusations of its own to permanently damage the credibility of the accuser’s family.
The credibility issue is crucial because, according to leaked details of the grand jury hearing into Jackson’s case, only two witnesses — the alleged victim and his brother — testified to seeing the singer behave inappropriately towards children.
