Fans, reporters settle in for Michael Jackson courtroom thriller
‘Pop star Michael Jackson (news) faces another group of 300 prospective jurors, as hundreds of reporters and fans settled in for the second day of a child molestation trial that is expected to last six months.
The eccentric “King of Pop” on Monday stood solemnly between his lawyers as he faced the first potential jurors who could issue the verdict that could send him to jail for up to 20 years.
“I can assure you that we are committed to trying this case in the most expeditious way possible and in all fairness,” trial Judge Rodney Melville said as he convened what was billed as the celebrity trial of the century.’
