Fans voice support for Jackson
‘WITH a smile and a wave, the King of Pop stepped out of the back seat of his blacked-out 4×4 vehicle and strode confidently into the Santa Barbara county courtroom. It was enough to send Michael Jackson’s fans into rapture.
The first day of jury selection in the trial of arguably the world’s biggest celebrity on charges of sexually abusing a child had begun.
The district attorney, Thomas Sneddon, was first of the major players in the trial to arrive at Building D of the sprawling, brown-walled courthouse in the rural town of Santa Maria.
He walked briskly through the doors to a chant of “Dom Sheldon is a cold, cold man”, a reference to a song Jackson had written about the man he refers to as his “nemesis”.
Jackson’s attorney, Thomas Mesereau, then swept past the throng of fans, media and police.’
