Jackson jurors to hear two different tales in opening statements
Experts say the Michael Jackson trial may boil down to the credibility of two people: Jackson and the accuser’s mother.
More than a year after the pop star was arrested, opening statements begin tomorrow in the child-molestation case against him. Jackson is charged with molesting a 13-year-old former cancer patient, and giving the boy wine.
Both sides have compelling stories to tell. Prosecutors will depict a poor family whose stricken son wanted to meet his idol. They’ll say that dream became a nightmare of abuse and imprisonment at Jackson’s fairytale estate.
