Michael Jackson Awaits Jury Deliberations

‘A subdued Michael Jackson sat silently in court on the eve of closing arguments in his child-molestation trial, well aware that within a matter of days his future will be placed in the hands of a jury. Closing arguments in his case were to begin Thursday with jurors expected to get the case sometime Friday.

“It’s a very difficult situation to sit in there and know your life is in the balance,” Jackson spokeswoman Raymone K. Bain said Wednesday after the entertainer moved quickly and quietly past reporters on his way out of the courthouse.

“He has strong faith in God and in the judicial system,” Bain said of Jackson. “He knows his fate is in the hands of 12 jurors.”’

This is heating up! I heard on Fox news that the prosecution bashed the defense team for not delivering what they promised - and photos of MJ dangling his baby over the balcony were displayed and photos of mj cuddling the accuser (from the brashir interview) were also shown. I am sure MJ is very worried!

I wish my computer at work had a little TV monitor at the bottom. :( ;)

“The lion on the Serengeti doesn’t go after the strongest antelope,” Zonen said. “The predator goes after the weakest.”
How true this is. You can’t find a weaker victim than a poor kid with cancer. I read portions of the closing arguments and my impression was the defense merely was focusing on the mothers credibility. Also, WTF, Michael needed to go to the hospital again? Is this man completely insane? He is really sickening me.

Wow! What a desperate, desperate argument from the prosecution! They must truly be groping at straws! Did Zonen really say that lion on the Serengeti thing! Michael Jackson, a lion!??? Oh please…

Cheetah, I think this analogy is accurate and powerful. If I thought MJ were innocent, I would not like the comparison too, for that same reason.
Also, the jury got to see the “books” MJ introduced the kids to and zonen made the point “these are NOT books you would see on any coffee table”

Here are some other points the prosecution made - what can the defense possible have to say in response. I think these comments carry much weight and the defense of “but, but but the mother is a liar and is after money” just does not in any way invalidate the facts. In my opinion MJ will be found guilty:

Zonen depicted Neverland, Jackson’s fantasy estate and amusement park, as a place with no rules, no schooling and no discipline for children who stayed there.
Michael Jackson’s room was a veritable fortress with locks and codes which the boys were given … They learned about sexuality from someone only too willing to be their teacher.”
It was intimidating. It’s intimidating for me. … He had been molested by a man he once held in high regard,” Zonen said.

I’m sorry, Roseena. I realize the seriousness of the allegations made against Jackson and I apologize if I seem to be making light of them. If Jackson truly is a child molester I hope he rots in prison but Zonen just compared his client to an antelope. If Zonen wants to win this case he doesn’t need analogies. What he needs is proof beyond a reasonable doubt.
The fine arts books and adult magazines won’t do it because they’re not illegal to own nor are they the typical fair of the child molester. And for all of Zonen’s painting of Neverland as an evil fantasy estate, thousands of children flow through its doors every year who have quite a different experience.
Oh, God, If Michael Jackson truly is a child molester I pray that the prosecution’s arguments in the surrebuttal convince the jury of this but if I we’re Zonen I’d steer clear of the analogies.
