The Courier-Mail: Judge rules out Neverland visit
‘MICHAEL Jackson’s trial judge today ruled out a jury visit to the Neverland Ranch that Jackson’s lawyers argued was crucial to rebutting an image of the estate as a “magnet for criminal activity”.
Judge Rodney Melville vetoed the defence bid to take jurors in the star’s child molestation trial on a guided tour of Jackson’s fantasy-style ranch, saying they had already seen extensive video footage of the California haven.
“I think we have a more than adequate notion of what Neverland is like,” the judge said, citing the video evidence already played to the 12-strong-panel.’
