Motorola KRZR K1m Reviews

PCMag reviews the Motorola KRZR K1m and writes, “while the V CAST Music store works smoothly, you have to open the phone and click at least three times before music starts playing. The external touch-sensitive buttons are pretty, but they can be both not sensitive enough (there’s no way to use them to start the music player if it isn’t already running) and too sensitive (once the music player is running, you can accidentally pause the music too easily.) At least the speaker is loud and games including Ducati 3D Extreme played adequately well. The phone uses a USB jack for headsets, but comes with an adapter for standard 2.5-mm headsets.”

MobileTechReview reviews the MOTOKRZR K1m and writes, “Beyond voice and fashion, the Moto is meant to be a portable music player. The phone uses Verizon’s player software with support for music downloads, playlists, play by genre, artist, album, shuffle and more. The touch sensitive controls on the outer flip control playback (pause/play, fast forward/rewind) but can’t launch or quit the music player nor can it change playlists. Sadly, the phone comes with neither a stereo headset nor a Micro SD card which you’ll need to listen to tunes. Verizon’s $30 Music Essentials Kit is a wise buy if you wish to listen to music since it includes a stereo headset, USB cable and software CD to get music onto the phone and rip CDs. In contrast, they sell the headset alone for $30, so you get the idea.”

DigitalTrends reviews the Motorola KRZR K1m and writes, “Like the RAZR V3m, the KRZR is equipped with a microSD memory card slot located behind the battery cover. But KRZR’s slot is located below the battery rather than the ridiculous behind-the-battery location on the RAZR. To hear stereo music, the KRZR has twin speakers rimming the phone’s chin piece that pump out a fair amount of volume. Like the RAZR, KRZR has a mini USB jack, but Verizon doesn’t include any headset jack, mono or stereo. An adapter is included for a mono earset, but you’ll need a separate adapter to use your own stereo headphones. KRZR does include Bluetooth, but not stereo Bluetooth.”

Mobiledia reviews the Motorola KRZR K1m and writes, “Other than the exclusion of AAC files and general disregard for Apple users, the KRZR’s music package meets all expectations. The phone’s built-in Music Library sorts music by Genre, Artist, Album, Song, and Playlist, as well as offering Play All and Shuffle playback options. Music can be controlled with the flip open via the Menus or with the flip closed via the touch-sensor buttons on the frontplate of the phone. The phone comes packaged with a headset adaptor so that users may connect standard headphones via the USB port.”

PCMag reviews the Motorola KRZR K1m and writes, “there are a whole bunch of little things wrong with the KRZR that add up to a somewhat annoying experience. The user interface felt gummy and sluggish at times. None of the buttons—music or camera—work when the flip is closed, unless you started the music player with the flip open beforehand. My 2-gigabyte microSD card didn’t work in the phone (a 1GB card worked just fine), and on top of this, the card slot is located, annoyingly, under the back cover. Sprint’s video service played with a distracting bright-yellow border around it. There’s no stereo Bluetooth, and the phone doesn’t ship with a headset or adapter (though you can use any RAZR headset.) “
