Paris Hilton’s burger commercial is deemed too raunchy for television

‘A new advertisement for a burger chain starring the hotel heiress Paris Hilton may be never be seen on television because it is too raunchy to be broadcast.

Hilton has already filmed the spot for burger chain Carl’s Jr, which was created by the Los Angeles ad agency Mendelsohn/Zien. In it, she is shown soaping a car, with hoses suggestively shooting water everywhere. It ends with her eating a bite of burger and saying “That’s hot”.

However, there are concerns that the ad will not be able to be shown in the US, particularly in the era of new austerity that came in the wake of the 2004 Janet Jackson “nipplegate” scandal, which has seen broadcasters clamp down on programmes and ads that are aired.

Carl’s Jr is unlikely to be worried by the controversy because it primarily targets young men with products including the Spicy BBQ Six Dollar Burger, or, for the more diet conscious, the Low Carb Chicken Club Sandwich.’
