Sales of handheld devices continue to slump

‘SALES OF handheld devices continue to fall said IDC, which said the worldwide market has fallen for a seventh consecutive quarter.

Nintendo DS to recognise handwriting

‘NINTENDO announced a licensing deal with Zi Corporation to use their Decuma handwriting recognition software on unspecified DS titles.
The Decuma portfolio fits in three different recognition products, the first for recognising alphabetic languages including English, French, German and Italian. A second recognises both simplified and traditional Chinese while a third handles Japanese (including Kanji).’

Nokia, Moto drive world smart-phone sales

‘Palm’s Treo smart phone out-shipped the company’s traditional PDA products during Q3, the latest figures from market watcher Canalys reveals.
