Motorola promises 3G Q PDA phone for Q4

‘3GSM Motorola’s would-be BlackBerry-beater, the Q, will ship by the end of the first quarter, the company promised yesterday, before going on to announce a 3G version of the QWERTY keyboard-equipped PDA phone. BlackBerry maker RIM holds lead as PDA sales jump

‘Global sales of personal digital assistants (PDAs) hit a record 14.9 million last year, with Canadian-based Research in Motion’s BlackBerry leading the market, a survey showed.
Gartner Inc. said the sales for 2005 represented a 19 percent increase from 2004 and topped the previous record of 13.2 million PDAs shipped worldwide in 2001.
