Bargain PDA reviews the Dell Axim X30 and writes - ‘The X30 is a dazzling little piece of hardware for its mixture of capabilities and price. Aside from some non-critical software glitches that hopefully will be ironed out in time, it has just about everything that you can pack into a machine of its size. The only things that you could possibly say it lacks are a VGA screen and CompactFlash slot, neither of which would be easy to fit into such a tiny machine. I don’t feel any hesitation in saying that the X30 is the new reigning champion of ultralight Pocket PCs.’

CNET reviews the Dell Axim X30 and gives it a rating of 8.1 out of 10. They write - ‘In April, Intel unveiled its next-generation XScale processors for mobile products, and now, the first Windows Mobile 2003 OS-based handhelds to employ them have finally surfaced: the Dell Axim X30 series. Replacing the Axim X3i, the high-end X30 adds Intel’s zippy new 624MHz processor, Bluetooth, and the latest Windows Mobile OS–setting a new standard for Pocket PCs. The X30 is an office workhorse, but its competitive price point ($350) may attract consumers who want a full-featured PDA. If you don’t need the speed, check out the midlevel X30, which has the same features as this version except for a 312MHz processor. Those on a budget should check out the base model, which forfeits wireless connectivity and extra memory for a low price tag ($199).’

Aximsite reviews the Dell Axim X30 and writes ‘If you were hoping this unit would be the rumored VGA model, sorry. This is basically a reworked X3 with a a new processor and Operating System. It is a great machine though. It packs a punch, its lightweight, has built in WiFi and Bluetooth, and has the most current OS from Microsoft. Dollar for Dollar it is currently the best bang for the buck. Sure it has some minor flaws, sure it does not have a CF slot, but for $349.00 for the 624mhz model and $249 for the 312mhz, how can you not look past that. The new Window Mobile 2003 Second Edition has some real nice upgrades that make things real handy. The enhancements to Pocket Internet Explorer are super and the ability to switch from portrait to landscape on the fly is to die for. Over all I believe this is a A+ upgrade from the X3i.’
