HP iPAQ hx4700 Windows Mobile 5.0 upgrade delayed
‘HP has announced its intention to postpone the Windows Mobile 5.0 upgrade for the hx4700 model. The appropriate upgrade for the hx2000 series will be released on schedule.
The official reason for the delay follows: “Due to unforeseen extended delays in the availability of a critical 3rd party driver, the upgrade kit for the hx4700 will be delayed to mid to late Spring 2006.” Unfortunately, the handheld manufacturer didn’t specify, which third party driver put off the release of the Windows Mobile 5.0 upgrade that much.
As for the upgrade offer for the hx2000 series, the company confirmed it would be made available later this month.’
