‘Apple is set to launch another key product. Invitations to a “Special Event” have already gone out. They have also registered a new patent.

A patent filed by Apple suggests that the company is developing its own “smart” touchscreen technology for a whole range of devices, including a tablet computer and home control touch screen. The company apparently plans a “multipoint”-capable screen that may enable the company to “digitize” the iPod and create a “human” interface for widely used software in the home. In addition Apple has syndicated invitations to a special event on the 22nd of February at the San Francisco Mascone Convention Centre. Some say they will launch either a new media centre or a video air port wireless device.’
