Several new Palm updates released

Several new Palm updates were released on June 16th. The first update was for Sprint PCS’ version of the Treo 650. Some of the new features will allow the following:

- Enable Bluetooth Dial-Up Networking
- Update VersaMail to version 3.1 to enhance stability and add improvements
- Add support for more Bluetooth carkits including Acura, BMW, Chrysler, Toyota Prius (see all compatible car kits)
- Reduce post-dial delay before a call is connected
- Send SMS messages from Missed Call Alert or Call Log
- A new user guide that incorporates the changes after running the Treo 650 Updater: Treo 650 User Guide (PDF)

The second update is for the unlocked GSM Palm Treo 650. This update addresses the management of memory with improvements to the non-volatile file system. It also includes an updated version of Versamail, improvement of voice quality, and the latest carrier settings files.

The last update is for the newly released LifeDrive. This is the first update for the LifeDrive and it should fix connectivity problems that users may have had with two routers, the Belkin High-Speed Mode Wireless G Router and the Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Broadband Router. Even if you don’t own one of the two routers, it is recommended that you install the patch if you plan to access any public Wi-Fi networks.
