Sprint PPC-6601

Sprint Ppc 6601
InfoSync World reviews the Sprint PPC-6601 and writes:

‘Despite lacking some of the features of its brethren of the same reference design, the PPC-6601 still comes off as a good device. The thumbboard is good, the screen and battery life are great, and little details like dedicated Start menu and OK buttons create a compelling package. On the downside, Wi-Fi is absent, a feature many businesses will miss, and there is no camera. The latter, of course, is a plus for many users. With the reduced feature set, though, the device’s weight and price become larger stumbling blocks. Users looking for a data-centric communicator should give the PPC-6601 a look, but not to the exclusion of some other models on the market.’

Mobileburn takes a look at the Sprint PPC-6601 and writes - ‘One thing that you might notice is missing in this version of the MDA/XDA III, though, is WiFi. Otherwise, most of the specs are pretty much the same (Bluetooth, SDIO slot, removable battery). You’ll also find 120MB of internal memory and a 400Mhz XScale processor. One obvious change, though, is that the PPC-6601 works on CDMA networks instead of the GSM networks that the other versions run on.’

PDA Buyers Guide reviews the Audiovox PPC-6601 Pocket PC Phone Edition from Sprint and writes - ‘If you’re looking to reduce the number of devices in your pocket or bag, the Audiovox PPC-6601 should be on your short list. It’s both a powerful Pocket PC and a fully functional cell phone. It has style, an innovative “slide and hide” keyboard and holds its own against high end Pocket PCs in terms of performance and features. The PPC-6601 has been stable and reliable for us, and the Sprint PCS Vision data speeds make web browsing a pleasure.’

Bargain PDA reviews the Audiovox 6601/Sprint PPC-6601 and writes - ‘If you need a PDA/Phone device and you’re needs come PDA before phone then this might be a good device for you. The processor is fast, battery life is great, the built-in keyboard does prevent the need for having to carry an extra thumbboard accessory and the Sprint PCS wireless network will provide you with a good web browsing experience. The fact this Pocket PC has Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition is great too since you can now easily use landscape mode for that web browsing you might want to do with your wireless device. And if you want this Pocket PC Phone to function as a modem, it’s easy to do using the WModem setup wizard, then just connect the PDA to your laptop and you can download email and browse the web from there.’
