Windows Mobile 5.0 Upgrades from Dell and HP
- Reminder:
The new edition of Windows Mobile 5.0 OS for PDAs and smart phones is coming, with Dell and HP offering upgrades for Windows Mobile 2003 users.
The Dell Axim X50/X50v ships today with Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition software installed, but a free upgrade CD will be available for new Axim X50/X50v buyers, with additional shipping charge in October allowing you to upgrade your device from the current operating system to the new operating system by using the installation CD. The CD costs $39,99 for current Axim owners.
HP will offer a Windows Mobile 5.0 upgrade for the hx2100, hx2400, hx2700 and the hx4700 series of iPAQ PDAs. HP says the upgrade will be available this summer. We’ll see about that.
